Québec student newspapers, campus radio and sports, all in one place
LE-RADAR gathers student newspapers, campus radio and sports from Québec cégeps and universities.
The app is for discovery and for a list kept on the device. It does not replace the publications. The full article opens on the outlet that wrote it, in the system browser, with that outlet’s name on the button.
• Follow a paper, a region or a keyword • Hide a source • Save a card and revisit recently opened articles • Read the last loaded feed offline • Share the original article or the LE-RADAR card • Listen to a campus station when an HTTPS stream is available
Some feed items are in English and are marked EN.
Network use: on each start the app downloads the current feed, the source list and the radio list from https://le-radar.ca/. While a station plays, it also fetches what is on air from https://le-radar.ca/radio-nowplaying.json. If that fails, it uses the copy bundled in the app. Card images load from each outlet’s own website, and radio audio streams directly from the station.
No account. No ads. Follows and favorites stay on the device and can be erased in Settings.
The interface language menu is the same as on https://le-radar.ca/ : French, English, and the other languages offered there. Original keeps each article in the language it was written in. Known interface phrases are translated on the device. Other phrases use the LE-RADAR translation cache and the same public translation services as the website.
LE-RADAR means Le Réseau Académique de Découverte et d’Agrégation de Ressources. The website https://le-radar.ca/ stays available on its own.
